Ok so where to even begin with this guide, I spent nearly two weeks traveling around Spain, France, and Italy with my family, and even through I just got back home I can’t wait to go back and experience more of the magic that these incredible countries have to offer.
My trip was filled with food (obviously!), sightseeing, visiting historical landmarks, and constantly being in awe of my surroundings. I definitely only scratched the surface on these places, especially Italy where I only spent a day in some of the cities/towns I visited. Each place has so much to offer from food to history and culture, so I highly suggest that you get out and embrace these places as much as possible!
I can’t pick which country/city was my favourite to visit because they are each so different and offer completely different things, and I did enjoy each and every one of them for their unique charm! I hope you find this little guide helpful if you happen to find yourself in any if these cities in the future! Full credit to all the people who recommended some of these places, I wouldn’t have found these gems without you!
Brunch & Cake: This was seriously my favourite place I ate at in Barcelona, I went back five times, sometimes for breakfast and lunch. Their creative take on healthy dishes is not something you want to miss. It’s also a perfect dining place for the whole family because they cater to vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free, and meat eaters. My family even loved it and they’re picky eaters! Tip: arrive early because a queue starts to form quick, although if you do end up waiting they’re pretty quick and there are multiple locations throughout the city. I tried the matcha, acai bowl, avo toast, matcha banana pancakes, and superfood salad bowl! I loved the salad and acai bowl the best!
The best acai bowl I’ve ever had!
Flax & Kale: 3 locations throughout the city. H & M flagship is a grab and go though. It’s great place for vegan and vegetarians, nice atmosphere, raw desserts (cakes, healthy ice cream), matcha made with oat milk and more. I got multiple dishes here, I recommend the superbowl salad, raw vegan lasagna, and any of the desserts!
Where I didn’t get to go but you should try:
Hammock Juice Station: A place where they sell juices (obv), avo toast, acai bowls, and more to fuel your healthy foodie dreams. All their seats are hammocks which sounds like the absolute dream atmosphere!
Green & Berry: They serve a ton of plant-based dishes from avocado toast to raw noodles, desserts, matcha, and more.
Palma de Mallorca:
My Muy Bueno Deli: A gem in the heart of the city centre. All their cooking is free-from dairy, refined sugar, This place reminded me so much of the Deliciously Ella Deli in London. The lady who was working was SO sweet, their lunch bowls consist of selecting four dishes which ranged from avocado pesto zuchinni noodles, to sweet potatoes, slaws, and more! They also serve smoothies, matcha (obviously I had to have one!), raw desserts, banana bread, you name a healthy dish they basically have it. They also have a cooking school which I would love to take classes at!
Amorino Gelato: A chain gelateria but they have vegan options and they serve gelato/sorbet in the shape of a flower! Located in the town centre.
Ginger Sapori e Salute: I was recommended this place from several people in Instagram! Not a vegan or vegetarian place, but options on the menu! The restaurant serves up a ton of healthy dishes which is a real treat if you’re looking for a change up from the pizza, pasta, and gelato!
Casa E Bottega: I didn’t have a chance to eat here, but I checked out the menus and it was highly recommended! They cater to all diets, organic, and local produce is used in their dishes. Vegan and vegetarian options which is hard to find in most restaurants along the Amalfi Coast. They serve juices, acai bowls, vegan salads, etc.
Da Gigino: A very very classic family owned Italian restaurant. The real deal for Napoleon pizza in Italy and even the locals recommend this place! I just got mine made vegan by asking for veggies without mozzarella. So good I almost ate the entire thing! I recommend avoiding the town square for food as it’s mostly for tourist and more expensive.
The lemons in Sorrento are huge!
Casa Infante: One of the best gelato places in Naples (even Kim & Kanye have visited this place!), not a ton of vegan options but sorbet is vegan and dark chocolate is vegan! The best sorbet/gelato I had all vacation.
I think that just about clues up my guide to the best almost two weeks of my life! I learned so much, I gathered so much inspiration, and I can’t wait to go back already! I hope this comes in handy to you in the future.
