As you can tell The Nakd Kitchen has undergone some serious renovations, which if I am being completely honest was very necessary. I want to create quality content and recipes to share with you and changing the URL and logo of the blog is definitely a step in the right direction. I know change is sometimes hard, but I really hope that you will find that the new layout of the blog is easier for you to use so you can get into the kitchen and get cooking!
Getting anything done with tech is so daunting for me, especially when it involves redoing my entire website and looking at codes. I am definitely not a techie if you can tell… However, I am so pleased with the new logo and glad that I am hopefully able to offer more quality content to you! Not to mention more is still to come, but I want it to be a surprise!!
Anyways, now onto the green stuff… Green juices, green smoothies, and kale salads anything green you name it the green trend has revolutionized the healthy eating industry. Starting out with drinking green smoothies can be daunting when you can barely even stomach the steamed broccoli on your dinner plate. But fear not, you too can join the biggest foodie trend if you add the right ingredients in and not overpower your smoothie with kale which will result in drinking the unimaginable swamp smoothie. Even someone like myself who loves greens can’t stand to stomach some of the strong green smoothies!
Kale however is the king of “superfoods” packed full of healthy vitamins and minerals such as vitamins K, C, A, and minerals such as calcium, manganese, potassium, and the list could go on forever! Not only is kale packed full of vital minerals and nutrients that your body needs, but academic science journals suggests that kale can improve skin and nails, gut health, boost energy levels, and can protect against indigestion, as you can see you might not want to skip that kale after all, and that’s only a short list of what kale can do for your body! (“26 Science- Backed Health Benefits of Kale,” 2017). I will post a link below if you would like to read any more benefits!
I love having this green smoothie as a mid morning pick-me-up after my 7:30 AM accounting class (I didn’t even know my uni offered such early classes), but I’m a morning person so it’s great! You can modify my green goddess smoothie by adding a scoop of protein powder, almond butter, or fresh spinach. If you want to skip the kale (cause not everyones into it) go for it, and do what works for you. I hope this green energy boosting monster will help you power through the rest of your week!
